American Buttercream

Buttercream can be tricky to master. Start with the American buttercream if you’re a beginner, as it’s the easiest one to master. Its generally twice the amount of powdered sugar to softened butter in weight amounts. Once you get the right texture and consistency you can flavor it any way you like .

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, add the soft butter, half the powdered sugar, vanilla paste or seeds, and half the milk. Mix together for 10 minutes on high speed.
